[SPOILERS] Severance (Season 2)

come at me for this comparison if you will but Severance has got to be one of the best television shows since Breaking Bad. beautiful cinematography, fantastic writing, well-researched sci-fi elements, devoid of major holes in plot & believable scientific theory as far as I know. a perfect mix of eerie and funny. and if you’re watching it on an HDR screen WHOOO they put it to work, esp in ep4 with the fire, tents, and the heater in Helly’s tent!

we got a peek inside Lumon, she’s saying weird things about him, his outie is hearing this weird shell of a person she is down there. and the way it just completely destroyed him in an instant. tears up. fade to black. that was so impactful.

I DON’T CRY AT TV/MOVIES/ANYTHING OFTEN like maybe once every few years.

I’m so so so so so eexcited for the rest of this season oh my GOD

mark & helly sex scene (feat. explicit enthusiastic consent) good

mark & helena outside is gonna be fascinating to watch

selvig/cobel will make a comeback [99.89% chance] after such a sudden prolonged absence. too major of a character to disappear without an explanation

saw a comment online along the lines of ‘hope this won’t go to cliché sci-fi “the power of love” ending’

there’s a theme of that and it’s possible the series goes that way but I have a lot of faith they won’t rely on that entirely and will do this right. they killed Burt+Irving love story, will prob kill iDylan + Gretchen. dunno about Mark + Helly/Helena (that restaurant scene was nuts).

Milchick very good. his acting this season (ep6 especially) is some of the best acting. + the way the show is tackling discrimination is amazingly empathetic and immersive. hearing lots of that online from others who’ve experienced corporate discrimination.

also the religious element of Burt & Fields is fascinating, always feels weird for me as an ex-christian with my struggles but still a great take & execution of the topic.

well.. hot damn. what an absurdly amazing episode.

a little upset that the plot advancement is still slow, but Gemma trying to break out will hopefully be a major plot point. I teared up a lot this episode after wondering for the past several years who Gemma was and what state she might have been in down there.

also what the fuck is the doctor’s deal with her? he’s so r**ey to her, it freaks me out. and Drummond knows too. eugh.

I feel the last two episodes are set to be explosive. so much foundation is laid now, the end of this season is going to be an absolute rollercoaster.
