Introductions

Post by matt »

Hello all!

With so many new members to The Forum, I think it's time to start an Introductions thread to introduce yourself!

Include as much or as little about yourself as you'd like.

Thanks for joining The Forum!

hi my name is milo. i was born in the year of '05, so i won't look at this post and think "oh i need to update the age on the post". born in texas and lived here all my life, and i love it here (at least community wise).

i make music & am actively developing/creating a multimedia story under GEMINI WORKSHOPS, which includes aliases such as transgender lain clones, ECDYSIS, Tomorrow, saturator, eniac, guArdiAn, 'Triode, Amplification', and others. all aliases are connected/embody fictional characters within the GEMINI WORKSHOPS universe, and generally have a genre associated with them; there are many others in the umbrella that i don't make music under.

i have been doing music production for 7 years and illustration for 11 years. i do graphic design and am certified in the Adobe Suite. i am in college for two degrees, both which i am over half way finished with; computer networking with a focus in cisco, and audio engineering. i hope to get a third degree after these two are finished.

i am a transsexual (male) and gay. in my spare time i read a lot of geopolitical stuff and go out to shows. i also really like cheese and all of my hobbies are too expensive. i collect records/cds/cassettes ETC and i buy/sell records on the side as well. i have about 1100 records in my "store" that i have ambitions on developing into an actual brick and mortar.

i miss being on forum boards like this that i grew up on (until i was maybe like, 13/14 or so, when i was actually able to get social media), so i'm here. it feels both more "anonymous" and community oriented at the same time compared to social media. happy to talk to y'all!

Hello! I'm Pastel-Pented-up-glam, a 19 year old (20 next week) music gusic picker-upper and hippy haired northern loon who is currently conflicted on 2025.
I live on the east coast of North Yorkshire, in a seaside town that is as deserted as Chernobyl in the winter and with a likeness of Disney Land in the summer (these tourists leave with any old overpriced crap like fridge magnets )
But with the season swings, you'll find me in my oversized coat popping round the charity shops/thrift stores every morning looking for CD's, and with this way of life I have amassed a collection of discs I'm rapidly running out of space for, in an effort to broaden my horizons. I'm mostly a listener of all things psychedelic and prog, with hyperpop heavily being thrown into the fold mid-last year. Some underscores, Frost Children, and Jane Remover. Thanks to the gusic lot for prodding my peek into these 3 through yapping alone.

My Asperger's is the force behind my fixations and I hope to divert it towards music and self expression as I go along with my life.
I believe there's nothing more powerful than music, and nothing more surprising, than to be living in a period like this with all the available access, via in retail with confident independent record stores, soulseek (other music sharing platforms are available) or however you find your sounds, we still have decades old material yet to hear.
Plus with the experimental horizons and the many different approaches being released RIGHT NOW for your own emotional raw catharsis and bliss receptors, I find this a stunning thought for sure and it's such a unique time for us to be living in. (Something that is taken for granted occasionally with how much music surrounds our lives already.)

I'm also here to bat my eyelashes over Ally Sheedy (my beloved) and post a god-knows-how-many amount of Frasier Crane gifs. :P

Goodbye and Hello!

Hello 8-) . . . I am Wyatt, a nineteen-year-old artist, musician, barista, and autistic thumb-twiddler in southeast Portland. I'm from bumfuck-California originally, only moving up north a few years ago. I have a lot of hobbies and interests, currently more obsessed with independent games, small-press books, Guatemalan coffee, and music production.

I have been releasing my own brand of slightly-out-there electronica for five years now, currently under the Garden Busker alias, and other side projects.

I am one of the co-founders of Open House, which Noah and I rebuilt from the NJOM label a year or two ago. We're focusing on love for the arts, community, and making a healthy, sustainable Internet presence. Or something. Anyway, we accept submissions via e-mail ([email protected]) and we don't care about genre at all. Just love what you do and put a lot of heart into it. :)

Forums, webrings, blogs, mailing lists, IRC, they all have my attention. :ugeek: I take interest in diversity and independence on the computer, both on- and off-line. I think a lot about these things and am always willing to chat. I love the forum, and I'm happy to see it taking off a lil'. See you guys around.
