Time to yap about doujin music... but before anything I'm going to drop some info and general links for y'all.

First of all, where do u even find this music???
Well, it depends on a few factors and how ethical you want to be lol.

But before anything, I'd just advise to go around and just look yourself. I feel like the best way to discover doujin music (and really all music) is just by discovering it all by yourself.

Lastly, I included a link to VGMdb that showcases some doujin events. These events are a amazing way to discover new music and see what’s upcoming. The three main events I'd suggest to watch for are Comiket, M3, and Reitaisai (this one being specific to Touhou).

I'll start here with mentioning my favorite doujin label, XROGER!
In the early years of hardcore in nerdcore techno, before sharpnelsound, project gabbangelion, etc. there was XROGER, making their debut with an Aqua Age themed album in September 1996, full of experimental gabber, techno, breakbeat type tracks, over the next few albums they'd develop their own sound to stick with for a couple years. my favorite albums from them would be XRCD-006,007,008,009 as of right now.

if you're into oldschool gabber, famicom games, anime samples, I can recommend giving them a listen

if you're into oldschool gabber, famicom games, anime samples, I can recommend giving them a listen

Thank you for all this!!! I have a few stuff from XROGER saved in my drive and I've been meaning to get into them more. I know that the X-Treamaster album that you shared with me is in the same sphere, with hubmaster working on a lot of releases for XROGER.

One thing that I found really interesting about them is this release 木夢, because the cover for it is a "direct nod" to Mokum Records which is a really good old school hardcore label from the Netherlands, which is still doing stuff today. On top of that artists like M-Project and The Speed Freak have been on that label and they have been around a lot of hardcore/j-core labels/releases, small ass world lmao.

Adding to the OP here, there's a ton of Youtube channels as of late that've managed to collate together a lot of the more obscure/lesser known releases from the 2000s and early 2010s for anyone who wants tasters - a lot of them don't really organise their uploads too well, but there's a few interesting assortments out there:

OTAKUHARDSOUNDS - more modern offerings, typically skews harder styles of hardcore etc. (potential NSFW warning)
jaycorevibes - run by the same person, uploads are 2000s/2010s J-core (makina/happy hardcore/speedcore, same disclaimer as above)
Sleeping Cocoon - contains a few uploads of nerdcore albums from HYPER RICH and some other doujin producers, but the crown jewel of this channel, personally speaking, is the assortment of music from Troubadour Record, the label run by a bunch of former Namco composers during the 90s. technically not doujin but close enough
lunch - has a ton of doujin releases from all over the place, you will be surprised by the catalogue here (potential NSFW warning)

Most modern releases that don't have licensed tracks typically get picked up and catalogued on Youtube once they hit streaming services anyway, so if there's a release from the last ~7-8 years that catches your eye, or the label/circle is decently sized enough, you can throw the album name into Youtube and you'll get the auto-generated album. Happy dumpster diving.

tl;dr do like IEM reviewers and pick the album with your favourite anime character on it

Thank you for these!! I've actually been in the know of sleeping cocoon and troubadour records, but I'll have to look at the other ones you put and I hope other people also. I knew about troubadour from speedbeatz, who also uploads a lot of old releases of early nerdcore and jcore stuff.

And some info on sleeping cocoon, it is run by Halley Labs, a lot of their older hardcore/speedcore stuff is directly influenced by a lot of the those old labels and releases they upload. Again, small ass world

an very fun fact to add to this is that FOXYUN, one of the core members of XROGER, made their debut on Mokum a few years back, for the "Fucking Hardcore Tokyo" compilations, and has been on all 3 of them since!

and also, hub master, who now goes by Quad has done a great deal of things such as mastering a huge amount of albums/soundtracks, also worked with Sharpnel on many occasions,, runs his own label for his releases which is pretty well respected in the hard house circle of Doujin afaik.
