I think it's coming soon. I'm kinda excited. I'll be dropping rumors, leaks, info, and opinions in this thread.

Re: Switch 2
Nintendo Switch 2 tipster claims to know release date... - Tom's Guide / Apparently, the Nintendo Switch 2 Has a Leaked Release Date... - Vice
OK. This one, I kinda don't believe. I'd like to think that the announcement date could be correct. The launch date is literally just the Switch 1's release date so like, they could but I don't think they will. The announcement date feels like its supposed to come from the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017, which was streamed on 1/13/2017. The launch games feel like they just got pulled out of their ass. Canadians not getting ripped off with a $400 CAD makes me not believe this at all. Like I believe $300 USD but like it'd have to be $450-$500 CAD. Actually, I don't believe $300 USD, the Switch OLED starts right now at $350 USD and the BASE SWITCH is at $300 USD. At LEAST $350 USD with a price drop to the Switch OLED and probably discontinuing the base Switch. Switch Lite? That's probably not getting touched. I'd love $300 USD, and I could tolerate $350 USD.Nintendo is set to reveal the Switch 2 on January 17 with a launch scheduled for March 3, according to the noted leaker ... (who) also claimed the Nintendo Switch 2's price will be $400 CAD. That works out to about $280 USD, which would likely translate into a $300 price tag in the States...
...the insider’s post mentioned two major launch titles: Mario Kart 9 and Red Dead Redemption 2.

Also, I don't think I'm getting the Switch 2 at launch unless there is a Mario Odyssey 2. But then again, probably not at launch, but it would be fun! I got the iPhone 16 Pro at launch this year, that was a fun (but boring) experience! (first time for that too)
Nintendo Switch 2 rumor is bad news for the display - Tom's Guide
Pleak I hope this is not fucking true... No way we go from Switch OLED's beautiful screen to another, not shitty but, lackluster LCD display. Every time I see a Switch OLED display in a retail store I get a deep desire to purchase.Another clue the Nintendo Switch 2 is being worked on has come from Japanese display maker Sharp, which is reportedly working on LCD displays for a new games console.
That’s according to Bloomberg, which reported that Sharp CEO Robert Wu told analysts how the company will begin pilot production for LCD panels aimed at a new games console. “I can’t comment on any details regarding specific customers. But as to a new gaming console, we’ve been involved in its R&D stage,” said Wu.
Given Sharp makes the displays for the Nintendo Switch, we can take a decent punt and speculate that these could be displays for a next-generation Switch.
But if that is the case, it could be a bit of a disappointment.

Re: Switch 2
I think Splatoon 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom were supposed to be on the Switch 2, it had to be.

Re: Switch 2
Just realised an hour ago that I've had my Switch for almost eight years and it's been in consistent use. The battery is still holding up well, the screen only has a few notable scratches (and I know why the big one is there, that was human error). It can run all the games and I've never been forced to replace Joy-Cons (I've swapped them around over the years when I want new colours, but most of the old ones I kept from 2017-18 still work pretty well). I don't want much from the new generation. I want better online connectivity, better controllers (the stick drift was TOO common and the joy-cons could be more comfortable), good compatibility with the current catalogue, and for Nintendo not to mess too much with the duality of it being both a handheld and home console. Don't be like Sony or Microsoft. No one GAF about the new console gen, just be dependable and play the slow game when you don't have anything innovative to do.

Re: Switch 2
I've also had my Switch for around the same amount of time. I've been kinda on and off of using it, I played Mario Kart 8 Deluxe a lot, I completed Mario Odyssey, played tons of Splatoon 2, some Puyo Puyo Tetris, Smash Ultimate of course, etc. Then I didn't really use it much, blame Fortnite and rise of PC gaming, until Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I absolutely adored that game, but like many people I fell off it. I never had issues with my Joy-Cons, nor my Pro Controller (still love the Pro Controller it feels so great in my hands.) I also never bought new Joy-Cons, too fuckin' expensive.paralleljalebi wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2025 7:50 am Just realised an hour ago that I've had my Switch for almost eight years and it's been in consistent use. Yeah, the Joy-Cons need grips on the back, can barely hold them with my gigantic hands. I think backwards compatibility has to be possible. And there is no way Nintendo is going back from the hybrid console structure any time soon.
I just want new games and fun tech!

Re: Switch 2
Night before (what's supposed to be) the big day! Here's all the info I could cobble together in a short amount of time.
A Reddit commenter claims to have limited experience with the console, powered off. Here's a compilation document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1h4d ... it?tab=t.0 . I believe it!
A compilation of articles from The Verge about the Switch 2: https://www.theverge.com/24051677/ninte ... umors-news
It's looking all the more likely that, yeah its an LCD on the Switch 2
